Well how could I stay away

Hello to all!

I guess I am what could be considered an old timer here on the forum!

I can’t even remember when I was last here or when I last posted!

Sit-Rep.
All the nova lasers are still working like the day they arrived.

The home spun lasers are also burning And churning!

I’m glad to see the site is still up and running, but wonder if any of the other old timers are still around

So anyway.

I am wanting to see what’s what now.

Maybe build something blue (not 455nm more like 405nm)

Or an orange/yellow.

Or something in the visible range in a handheld that is up there in power.

Thanks to all!!

Okay so I first wanna start by saying that I purchased this from Laserpointerstore.com because it was $99.99 and I couldn’t pass it up.
this is just a replica of the saber so if you want the real deal youll have to go to https://www.sanwulasers.org/product/striker
I will be ordering a real authentic saber first chance I get.

This Saber is incredibly heavy! Literally twice as heavy as my Equality from JL, maybe 2 and half times as heavy, and that is with no batteries. I know that Stainless Steel is much heavier than (AL) and (Ti). I have no complaints on the weight, I always feel like the heavier is it the better quality it is :)
I do wanna say that I’m so glad that they put reverse polarity Protection on this laser because LPS says that it’s case Negative but when I installed the batteries in positive first, the laser wouldn’t power on, I thought it was DOA! So I tried over and over and couldn’t get it to turn on. Unfortunately the Sanwu site cuts off the screen on my phone so I couldn’t see the Polarity. I decided to turn the batteries around thinking it was Case Positive and to my amazement it powered right on. I was so excited! Are the Sanwu Strikers supposed to be Case Neg? Anyways I’m just glad it works great! I had it on for over a minute and I didn’t really feel a temp change. I know the Duty cycle is unlimited but I still wanna be on the safe side.

The quality is certainly better than I expected, I love the feel of this Saber, it certainly feels like it’s gonna last like my JL Equality. I was able to get some readings on my Meter for the low and high output.
LOW was ((1098mw)) or maybe that’s medium. It only has two modes plus Strobe
HIGH was ((1649mw)) definitely as advertised :)

Order date 3-22-18
Arrived date 4-10-18

I’m kind of in a hurry so I apologize for not being as detailed as I should be, I’ll add more later, thanks for looking everyone :D

Oklahoma wildfires 4-13-18

Oklahoma right now is being hit with pretty bad wildfires thanks to our wind and dry conditions, so the air was very thick blocking a lot of our sun so you could actually look directly into it, and just a few hours later I knew the night would still be thick in smoke so the lasers look amazing at night.

Help finding my mw

So I purchased the laser off of this website
https://burninglaserpointer.com/luci...g-ability.html
But upon receiving it I began to question wether it really was a 200mw because it appears to be just a cheap Laser 303 I could buy off eBay for 7-8$. I do not have the money for a laser power meter but maybe someone can give me a estimate of the mw of this laser by telling you what it’s able to burn?
The laser has been focused correctly for the following tests.
It is able to make soft black plastics steam and leave behind small marks on them.
Not able to light a candle on fire.
It is able to light a match but it takes very long.
Pops balloons from a focused distance 2-5 inch away from the aperture depending on how I focused it, cannot pop balloons when UN focused and far away.
Will not do anything to any other materials such as wood or light colored plastics.
Please help I feel as if I’ve been scammed 16$ when I could’ve got the same laser off eBay for 8$.

I just joined the laser pointer forums website and the community seems awesome and very knowledgeable! I have just been getting into the lasers hobby and have been scammed on my first laser by BurningLaserPointers, apparently it is pretty common for false advertising of lasers! I am hoping to start up my own EBay drop shipping business as soon as I find a reliable laser manufacturer that doesn’t false advertise the laser wattage.

I forgot that I took these pictures over 2 years ago when I was experimenting with my first blue laser using a high speed camera and several dozen pictures I had taken over a 30 minuet time frame.
This picture was taken ((February 7th 2016))

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS PHENOMENON!!??
I really would like to know what this is causing this faint near invisible light?
I forgot that I was gonna post this nearly 2 years ago!

495nm Aspire One CF Mod Beauty

Recently I bought a laser from Rich.
The 495nm EDC side button.
See his ad here:
I asked him to send it in two packages and the module arrived first then a week later, the host.
I was too impatient to try out the 495 so I took out the diode module and put it in a copper vape 510 that I had bought from Rich, last year.
Matched it up with an Aspire One CF Mod with the blue side button and viola !!
Instant 495 goodness !!!
I'll be using the empty EDC side button host from Rich to put a nice 405nm module in it instead.

Hope you enjoy:

Help with AliExpress Driver

Hello,

I want to build a Laser Pointer with the PLTB450B Diode. I ordered this Driver from AliExpress:

445nm 520nm 1W 1.6W 3W Laser Diode Drive Driver Board PCB 6 14V Voltage Input-in Replacement Parts from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

I send them a massage that i need it for a 1.6w Diode.
on the one side they solderd a R470 resistors in parallel (ontop of) the the R200 resistor. And they send 3 R300 resistors. Do they need to be solder all in parallel on the other side on the free solder Pads ? When i solder in one of the R300 resistors the current is to hight (over 200ma but the Diode is rated for a current of 167ma. Does soldereing the resistors in parallel in a lower Output current ?

I hove you understand my Problem and someone is able to give me an advice.

Thanks, Jonas

1700mW Blue laser - $99 free shipping

Hi,

I'm selling a 1700mW blue laser, based on a 9mm 445nm (I think) diode in a C6 host, linear driver and glass three-element lens. It uses two CR123a or 18350 batteries (not included). It is the laser I built in this video: https://laserpointerforums.com/f48/b...ge-102588.html

The price is $99 and this includes standard shipping worldwide. If you want tracked shipping it is extra.

As you can see in the video, the output is verified to be around 1720 mW. It can be increased if you get a single-element lens. The diode can also be driven harder, up to 3W probably, if you get a stronger driver and larger heatsink host.

NB: This laser is very powerful, especially for beginners, and must be treated very carefully. Always use safety glasses and never point at other people, vehicles etc. I won't sell to minors.

I will send it in two halves like I did with the lasers I sold at Bitlasers.com , with a simple manual on assembly (it is just screwing the parts back together, very easy). This should make it easy to import to any country, I have only ever had one seizure out of hundreds of shipments.

Hey all, been awhile and i apologize I have fallen off so much. I still use my lasers quite regularly but my work schedule has been crazy since i changed shifts.

Anyway, I killed my Hugsby XP red pocket build and wantes to replace it temporarily with an executive style 532nm pointer for presentations and classroom use.

Any leads on a clean looking 532nm pen?

Looking for a 5.6mm Diode Press Set

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a wonderful day so far wherever you are in the world.

I'm currently looking for a 5.6mm laser diode press set for a 12mm module and possibly an extractor of the same size.

I have searched multiple time, both on and off the forum, for any that my be for sale as a bundle and I keep ending up back at Flaminpyro's page.

Unfortunately, it appears Flaminpyro has been AFK for the last few months so I don't think I'll be able to order it from him any time soon (I did pm him in case he does return soon).

If anyone has a 5.6mm press set (and maybe an extractor of same size) they are willing to sell or knows where I can find them for sale, please let me know!

I recently received a 700mW, 638nm Oclaro diode and was looking to press it into a 12mm module myself.

Anywho, thank you for reading my post, and have a wonderful day!

Prisms in Series

Seems like the prism shots were popular. I realized I had yet to get out my 2nd, identical, triangular prism. So here are a few with them in 'series'.

I reflected the (almost) re-combined beam off a mirror in one. In another, it's bouncing off a nice piece of glassware I use for lumia and cast a nice background on the rear wall.

Another 495nm cfmod GH04955A2G

I bought a couple cfmod "pens" and wanted to put in the GH04955A2G that I got from Styro becuase I really liked the way jnrpop's looked. This was my fist time pressing a diode and it went good! :D

I picked up the powder coated black 22mm HS and adapter is from Lifetime, and I'm glad I did because the 22mm HS I got from DTR were about 0.5mm too small in diameter to fit the adapter.

My phone camera makes them seem more blue than in person. I set the flexdrive to just a little under 100mA to try and keep it more blue if possible.
It came out to be around 35mW and just SLIGHTLY more blue than the 140mW 495 I got from Lifetime.

Also the full size copper back half was able to fit inside with the flexdrive. Tapping a 3mm hole in the bottom actually turned out pretty good and did not pinch the 26awg wire even after unscrewing a few times to check.

another laser death.

this really sucks because i dont know what happened, i was making a bet to my girlfriend that i could crack a glass cup with nothing but light. I told her that since glass is transparent and doesnt really absorb energy well that it would take a lot of power but i could do it. so after firing my 2.1W M462 on it with it finely focused of course nothing, so then firing my NDB7875 2.8W and M462 at the same point at the same time and boom, I heard a faint crack sound and after shutting them both off i noticed the crack which was small, about 5mm wide but i did it! so i decided to see if I could crack it even more so I turned them both back on for a second run noticing that it definitly cracked agan. I of course let them both cool down almost cold to the touch, a 3rd time to crack it more and as soon as i turned them both back on I happen to see that the M462 was dim, i figured the batteries were dead since i havnt charged it in a while, as soon as i tried some fully charged batteries it was still dim, even trying 2 more new batteries and nothing, dim again.
i honestly dont know what happened. I know for a fact that I kept it under 45 seconds each time even making sure that the laser never got hot at all.

I believe I read somewhere that laser light could not re-enter the diode or it could damage it? does anyone think it was possible that the glass reflected the two lasers back in through the diode window causing the laser to get over loaded? I hate the fact that I destroyed another laser but if i knew what exactly happened I would feel a lot better and possibly not make the same mistake. thanks for the input everyone.
my apologies for sometimes not being able to respond back for up to a day, I have a very off the wall schedule.

Hi guys,

I'm nearly 26 years old and it's been like 10 years that I'm really interested in your world, many years ago I bought my first laser from wicked laser but it was confiscated by customs :banned:

Because of this bad experience I lost my interest..

After reading much about lasers I made a choice and I ordered a 1w 520nm Spiker Series laser from Sanwu. I got few lasers in the past, some cheap ebay lasers 532nm 50\100 mw I believe, I didn't have a LPM.

Of course I bought some safety glasses, an eagle pair and a cheap LPM.

I hope I'll feel good here..

Just a simple question I got a laser from banggood 532nm the host looks like a machine gun (U'King ZQ-12L), I used it with my 18650 and it worked fine but when I tryed it with 2 16340 (the batteries in the case that I got from them) the laser died, I'm not sure if that is the reason.

Banggood will send me another laser, but I'll keep this host and I wonder if anyone got a tutorial to how disassemble this, because maybe I can use the host for another diode, I never did a laser from myself but maybe with a tutorial I can do it..

Thank you for reading :thanks:
