Greetings, friends!

Hello all,

My neighbor recently acquired a small green laser pointer. (I'm not sure of the power/wavelength, as I've not actually seen it up close.) Every night, he stands on his front porch and waves it around like a madman (which isn't safe, I know :tsk:), giddy as a schoolboy. Watching the beam zip across the sky entranced me, and now I've got the bug. I ordered a 30 mW 532 nm pointer from Optotronics yesterday, and I'm stoked! I also picked up some safety glasses from Amazon, because Survival Lasers won't ship to my address. :cryyy:

I'm so happy I stumbled across this forum! I look forward to getting to know and learning from some very knowledgeable, fascinating people.

Looking for green laser, focus on reliability, durability

My father (a university professor) has asked me to find him a 5mw green laser pointer, primarily for lecture-hall use. He specified that it be in the $20 (US) range, but I realize that may not be realistic. That said, let's keep it below $50.

I'm not looking for incredible brightness, match-lighting capabilities, or the ability to take down a missile in-flight. I'm more interested in knowing that it's reliable - and won't wear out quickly. It would be nice if it was physically durable, but I'm not sure that's an option.

If anyone could provide a link or two, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

Sanyo 20700 batteries, a new size?

Hi guys, I've just received an email from "IMR Batteries" advertising a couple of new batteries that they are now carrying; they are the Sanyo NCR 20700 size cells.
One is rated at 3100mAh and 30A, the other is a 4000mAh at 15A, I have never heard of this particular size cell. Take a look and see what you think. :D

Don't hand a laser to someone you wouldn't hand a loaded gun

Lots of vets know all this already, but for newbies like me, it can help to show how dangerous lasers are. Firearm safety is very closely related to laser safety. Here are some firearm safety rules compared to laser safety.

1. Always Keep The Muzzle Pointed In A Safe Direction - Never point your laser at anyone, or vehicle. This could permanently blind them depending on the power. Lasers aren't a toy.

2. Firearms Should Be Unloaded When Not Actually In Use - Always remove your batteries when you are finished using your laser. If for example you had children and they found it and thought it was a toy, they could end up permanently blinding themselves or simply burning themselves.

3. Don't Rely On Your Gun's "Safety" - Same goes for lasers. Electronics are not 100% fail-proof and things can and will go wrong. If for some reason you need to look at the laser which would normally be unsafe, make sure it has no batteries in and you were safety glasses, and STILL be very careful even with those precautions. You never know what can happen.

4. Be Sure Of Your Target And What's Beyond It - Light is very fast and living things do not have time to react. Make sure you are pointing it in a safe direction. Light can also travel for a long time, if you know there is a road down where you're pointing, don't point it there. Even if it's far away it's still a bad idea.

5. Use Correct Ammunition - Use the correct batteries. Make sure they are facing the correct way as well, because some lasers have reverse polarity and can be broken by putting the batteries in the wrong way.

6. Always Wear Eye And Ear Protection When Shooting - You can be permanently blinded even by looking at the dot on the wall of some lasers, eyes are priceless and you should spend as much as you need to to get a good pair of safety glasses. Survival Lasers (Survival Laser USA Home) offers great safety glasses. Make sure to get one that covers your laser.

7. Don't Alter Or Modify Your Gun - This really only applies to people who don't know what they are doing. You could hurt yourself or end up breaking the laser.

That's all! Lasers are awesome, but very dangerous. Remember the dangers but don't forget to enjoy them!

Hi... I made a huge mistake. I recently received my Sanwu Challenger II 3W (Awesome laser except for me being stupid...) and I was trying to see how big the diode was after I had put the batteries in... I don't know why. I looked down it and it turned on and now I can't see out of my right eye. I'm scared to death is there any way to regain my sight....

Quick and dirty test for IR emissions from a green laser?

I've read the NIST paper but it occurred to me to try a different test. I'd like to hear feedback on the validity of this.

My cellphone front camera is very sensitive to IR. A remote control looks like a flashlight. So, I took my green laser and put it against HDE red 405-532nm glasses (which should block all the visible green light). Looking at the glasses (obliquely of course) I can see a dim red dot. The camera pretty much sees the same thing. This leads be to believe that my green laser has an IR filter.

Thanks!

Some experience when playing at online casino

There are quite many article writing about the experience of playing casino but between the actual playing experiences while playing at the online casinos and practical theory on paper is quite different. So to help you know more and exactly about experience when playing at online casino effectively in fact, in this article I will give some effective tips.

Some experience when playing at online casino

Don’t emphasize winning and losing

There are a lot of experiences to play casino online game of Malaysia for you to refer. But with the games of chance, it is almost no longer effective anymore. To be able to win in this case, you are advised to play comfortably, keep calm and psychological stability. This can bring you a better result.

Psychology is the deciding factor

For these types of games based on luck such as slot machines, really to be able to win, you have to pay attention to the fate and temperament of each person. The first time I played this game in fact, I still retained a bit of money, however, though I played how many times, I did not lose that little money. Then I boldly changed the number of money I bet, and there is something unexpected happened: the more I played, the more I won.

Selecting the games which are fair and public

Slot machines are not much different than the lottery games and caro game, when you win a big jackpot, then the retreat is okay. Talking about payout, make sure that players will be disadvantaged. Therefore, this game can only be for entertainment only and gambling players can not survive based on this game. Talking about betting, slot machine Malaysia is a game with the longest history actives and online slot machine Malaysia too. About gamblers, they have joined the gambling association voluntarily, enjoying all the visual stimulation, auditory, physical, spiritual, the gambling brought from a long time ago. So, why should pay attention to these issues as well? Talking about betting, I firmly believe that the odds of online Baccarat higher than odds football betting, lotto games, it is clear, publicly than the lottery.
In an event about giving prizes, the online casino dealer required that 40 dollars is the lowest bet amount to have the chance of getting rewards, but when my friend bet with 20 dollars, he was still accepted. If they have such requirements, the reward at least 100 times more than with the basic bet, otherwise what is fair between players and online casino right? In the list of prizes, I found plenty of people with the lowest bet 20 dollars and they still got winning.

Pay attention and be careful before the promotion from dealer

Then I contacted the customer service, they informed me that it was the wrong list and there was no winner. People say whether fair or not? There should be rewarded in return for myself? The person in charge at the casino had few words of explanation to me. The reason they gave was: because the players did not understand, although the casino has also caused headaches player. But, for the largest customers, the casino always had a senior director in charge of the management. At implementation of the transaction, the amount was always from a million or more. Birthday, they also received large bonus or premium souvenirs. This they did not mention, only insiders can know it.

With experience I listed above, hope you can understand that it is difficult to win online casino Malaysia. The most important thing is good mentality when playing, and you can only win when you win by yourself. Good luck to you!

Hi dudes,

Haven't as much as stuck a battery in my lasers in months so am going to sell them (bar the 5w spiker!)

All lasers listed in my signature are up for grabs and have literally less than 1 hour of continuous use each. I also have a massive collection of spares (diodes, drivers, hosts ect ect) that can be broke down for individual sale or preferably all to go at once. Leaving everything open to serious offers (you know exactly how much these things cost me so don't be stupid about it),
Stupid offers will not be entertained. Drop me a pm or leave a comment and I'll cross them off as they sell. A few members know me here and can assure you I'm genuine. Anything else you need to know just comment, cheers

Hello I have this old Coherent graphite laser head that has a bad broken tube that will never ever I mean EVER be working ever again. BUT I love the head the way it looks and the size of it It has the optics and the head is in terrific condition. My question is what kind of laser project can be made with this? plus there seems to be a gluten of ion lasers on ebay craigslist etc that are going for really cheap I remember the same lasers in the mid 90s going for 5 figures now going for less than a grand. I have seen a Coherent innova 300 going for 300 bucks you know it is most likely DEAD. so what can I do with one of these. I am not a machinist (wish to God I was) but I want to do something with this huge head. but what I don't know any suggestions? thanks Tom

Just ordered three more lasers from Sanwu. A Spiker 7 watt, a tri-beam Guardian and a 150mw 520nm pocket, also grabbed some extra g7 lens to put in my custom builds. Looks like it's back to Mac&Cheese for awhile.:D I'm one of those people that pray for patience, but I want it right now! Will post a review when they show up.:yh:

This is a fun question. In everyday living where do you find lasers? yes I know DVD BuRay copiers, but where so they use these high powered DPSS lasers are they used in normal things like large laser printers/copiers? photo processing? just wondering. you see a lot of DPSS lasers on Ebay and whatnot but what are they originally made for? like where would they use a 1 w green DPSS laser?
