So my version of what a perfect laser should look like, who said you need threads on a laser, this turned out just as I imagined, from a solid bar of alloy all machined on my lathe to precise press fit pieces, My plan from the start was to push a NDB7675 hard and be able to adjust the current with the outer pot as desired, since I was to use this diode a 2 cell host was my intention and a 30mm copper heatsink for the diode would be sufficient ,it's a DTR direct press heat sink with an alloy plug thermally bonded to the rear of the diode and sink, it was machined precisely also and pressed into the head of the host at the end of the build, the whole front section of the host is now a heatsink, I wanted a very solid host so it was tough to get all the components into the head , with the diode module the angel eye switch the potentiometre and the driver module there is bearly enough room left for the wires, thermal sensor-resistor and switch resistor,
I went with a red LED switch as I have a custom build with a blue already and liked the red more,
The temporary rubber washer-spacer I added to the hosts join, I think gives it that extra uniqueness, but also is a guide for me as if I press the 2 halfs further it is difficult to open again,
I used a stainless laching safety switch on the rear to complete the ground and initiate power,
To get the angel eye switch sitting nicely in the host I had to purchase a solid carbide slot drill bit witch arnt cheap and had to use the mill, the driver pill was also milled,
I was surprised to see 2.35w at 2.7a I was hopeing for a less efficient diode and more wavelength shift but it's still very sky blue, very similar to my 4.5a NUBMO7E, I'll add pic comparison a bit later,:thanks:
