So i've been a long time lurker on this forum and finally decided to make an account! I have a 1W laser from o-like coming (not sure what to expect, heard some bad things) and laser safety goggles. I once attempted to build my own laser, and my diode wouldn't start up, even though it was new, but the most likely cause was the fact that it came from ebay. I would like help to make my own blue laser, preferably in a pen or flashlight host. Thanks! sorry if this post is a bit lengthy.
btw, I have a budget of $30, max. is that too cheap for a low powered blue laser? Would it be better building a red/green/violet?
