I'll try to make this review short and sweet, but most importantly, honest.
I know there has been alot of negative press for joker and his shipping, and its probably warranted in some respect. I can understand that these lasers, with the quality standards that they are built to does take time, that being said mine took just under a month to get to me, even though it was promised sooner. I was fairly patient and in the end I did end up getting it even with a few Tracking numbers that werent correct.
I dont know enough about these lasers to geek out with the lot of you, but from my newbie perspective I can say a few things about it.
I was very very careful to put the batteries in the correct way, was almost tempted to video doing just to cover my ass, but i didnt and it ended up working properly. The first issue I encounted, albeit a silly one due to inexperience was the focus ring i previously mentioned. It was screwed too tightly into the heatsink so the ring that is used to handle with your fingers would just thread off. I ended up using my fingernail to knock it loose from the heatsink and tightened the ring and holder(for lack of a better term) together seperately and havnt had a problem with that since.
Over the past few days I have noticed that the lens inside the focusing ring is a little loose. I can still focus it but if im not very careful it will move when i shine the laser around.
Now I will say that the construction of the laser is neat, sturdy and overall wonderful. Aside from my lens issue, and it could be normal, its a great product honestly. I think everyone here can attest to Joker's customer service and product quality, he just needs work on the shipping and he would really have a great thing going.Once I got the laser focus I was able to hone in on different objects and watch the smoke start rolling, which is always fun!Very pleased with the product.
He always seems very eager to help or make things right. When I first encounted issues with bogus tracking numbers, i gave him the benefit of the doubt and he did end up giving my a proper tracking number and was very helpful to answer any questions i had and responded in a timely manner for being on the other side of the world. I do believe it is also worth mentioning for my minor delay i did receive a partial refund which most certainly eased some frustration and meant that he was sincere.
