This lens is beam shaping, I have seen a nubm07e without the Gball using a 3 element and a G2 and it makes a long thin line, but with the Gball on it's a 2 to 1 rectangle, like a pair of dice side by side that diverge as the same.

Look at the multi elements in this reflection of my scope lights, at least 2 lenses and a cylendrical/shaper of some kind.
The dim lights are lens to lens reflections from my microscope cam, but the 2 bright primary reflections at different angles are indication of multiple lens surfaces.

This is my microscope cam lens, it is round, that square shaped cylindrical looking thing is not part of my scope reflecting, it's inside the Gball, I will shine a light through it and try to see what's in it.

This is not an unfocused line with a shadow, this is a solid uniform double square.
