A fellow member advised I check in here first...

I'm a software engineer with a background in computer vision and industrial laser measurement. My physical hardware knowledge isn't great so I'm embarking on a DIY project to play catch up. The project will cover my weak points inc. electronic engineering, mech eng, and laser/optical systems.

I'm here to humbly ask for some guidance on the laser side of things. ;)
