Should I register my lasers with my university as weapons?

My university is quite conservative, so they're lax about students having bows, knives and even small firearms on campus, so long as they're registered with both the university and Police department, and inspected for a 24 hour period. according to their definition, lasers are not *technically* weapons, I'm thinking it is better to be safe. registering firearms including bows means they'll be locked up in the school's firearm storage unit. obviously, this isn't desirable, as I like my lasers in my own safe storage. I do not know if they would do this for lasers. I have asked admissions and have gotten stories of kids not registering their lasers, and getting off with a confiscation.

None of the lasers that I own are illegal as of now.

Should I register my laser and risk confiscation, or should I not register my laser and risk confiscation?
