This was a difficult mod, DTRs 35mm module wouldn't fit by a millimetre, then I had to bring down the back and back side for the driver and the host to thread into the head, originally the Himel 5.5a boost driver I was to use was getting to hot to touch at 4.5a then I managed to break the regulator of.
I ordered 2 4.5a SXBs from Jeff, 2 weeks later they arrived, the first driver didn't show anything on my test load with multiple different bats, heat sinked and bridged still nothing so had to use the second one, had trouble getting over 4a but I was using a 3a Juffran test load, the pot on these only turns one full turn left or right,
Hard up for space in this host, even had to remove the heatsink on the regulator for the head to screw together, but now the copper module is touching the top of the regulator so I'm hoping its sufficient.
Then I had issues with the grounding of the host and the switch, I removed all the anodising from the threads with a brass brush drillbit.
I tried many different switches some better than others but for now left it using a stainless momentary instead of a clicky, with the 26500 battery I had on hand I don't think I'm seeing the full potential of this driver and the diode, so I'm waiting on some INR Effest 26500 to arrive.
The divergence of this NUBM06 diode with a G2 lens looks very similar to me as the NUBM07E,
I would have loved to use a SXD on this diode but in this host its difficult unless I use 3 IMR 10440 bats.
I really like this $60 Led Lenser though, it's a great design and size, and the matte black anodising looks awesome.
Thanks Jordan-Jeff and LPF!
